Won five state junior college titles when Campbell was a junior college and presided over its transition to four-year school. Started Campbell Basketball Camp, one of the first summer basketball camps. Invented McCall’s Basketball Rebounder, a popular rebounding machine. Graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne. Played four seasons of minor league baseball. Served as infantry officer in Pacific theater during World War II. Born Lincoln County. Died in 2008.
