College and pro standout. All-American guard at Western Carolina, 1967 and 1968. Averaged over 30 points per game for career. Led NAIA with 36.2 points per game in 1968. Averaged almost 10 assists per game in college. First African American player to star at predominantly white school in southeast. Played two seasons in ABA with Oakland and Washington before knee injuries ended career. Averaged 11.6 points in 108 games. Born 1946, Asheville.
