Basketball star at UNC. Raised in Durham. Attended Woodberry Forest High School in Woodberry, Va. Led UNC to 26-0 record in 1924. Team voted national champion by Helms Athletic Foundation. Named Helms National Player of the Year, 1926. Led UNC to 1924, 1925, and 1926 SC titles. A 6-ft.-2-in. forward, he averaged 15 points per game. After losing lower right leg in 1929 automobile accident, he gave up coaching ambitions and entered business world. Member of Helms Athletic Foundation College Basketball Hall of Fame. Born 1904, Durham. Died 1966, Greenville.
