  • MVP in 1953 East-West Basketball All-Star Game
  • Starred at Wake Forest University from 1954–1957
  • Second-team All-ACC in 1956, first-team in 1957
  • Named to 1957 Converse All-American team
  • Scored 1,239 career points, 14.9 per game
  • Excellent foul shooter with a career average of 85.8 percent, included ACC-record-setting 39 straight
  • Also played baseball as a freshman and senior
  • Coached Wake Forest to 8-18 record in 1966
  • Was also a standout fast-pitch softball player for teams in Winston-Salem and Canton, Ohio
  • Member NC Softball Hall of Fame
