Head men’s basketball coach, Duke University, 1980–present. Compiled record of 795-220 at Duke through 2010 season, including 1991,1992, 2001, and 2010 NCAA titles. Career record (868-279, 35 years). In 2005-06, Krzyzewski passed Wooden to move into first on the chart of coaches who have led their respective schools to a number one national ranking. Coach K has now led Duke to top spot in the AP poll for 93 weeks. NCAA runner-up, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998. His teams have advanced to 11 Final Fours, including five straight, 1988–1992. National coach of the year twelve times. ACC Coach of the Year five times. Winner of 12 ACC Tournament titles and 12 ACC regular-season titles. Active in NCAA committees. Head coach of U.S. men’s team, 1987 World University Games and 1990 World Championships. Assistant coach of U.S. men’s Olympic team, 1992. U.S. Senior National Team Head Coach 2006-2008. Coached U.S. team to gold medal in 2008 Olympics. Played at U.S. Military Academy, 1966–1969. Coached at his alma mater, 1976–1980, with record of 73-59. Born Chicago, 1947.
