Raymond Floyd - (1981)

Standout golfer. Learned game in Fayetteville from father, L. B., a club pro. Briefly attended UNC. PGA Rookie of the Year, 1963. Winner of four majors: 1986 U.S. Open, 1976 Masters, 1969 and 1982 PGA. Winner of over 60 tournaments and almost $20 million. First player to win on the PGA and Senior PGA tours in the same year, 1992. Member 1969, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1989, 1991, 1993 U.S. Ryder Cup teams. Known as fierce competitor. Captain 1989 Ryder Cup team. Born Fort Bragg, 1942.
