Top high school coach. Stops included Asheville Lee Edwards High School, 1936–1941; Raleigh Broughton, 1942–1948; and Asheboro High School, 1949–1965. Won one state title at Edwards and three at Asheboro. Never had a losing season. Attended Lebanon Valley College. Member N.C. High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. Born 1906, Frackville, Pa. Died 1998.
