Football, basketball, and baseball coach at Edenton, Wilson, and New Hanover High Schools, 1934–1968. Won eight boys’ state basketball championships, three state baseball titles, and a state football title at New Hanover. Won two state baseball titles and one state football title at Wilson. Athletic director for New Hanover County school system, 1969–1976. Charter member of the N.C. High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. National High School Coaches Association Distinguished Award, 1967. Graduate of Wake Forest. Born 1910, Wake County.
