* Willis Casey - (1985)

Swimming coach and athletic administrator at N.C. State. Graduated from UNC in 1946. Promising swimming career ended by bout of tuberculosis. Head swimming coach at UNC, 1944–1946, and at State, 1946–1969. Brought State’s program to national prominence. Overall dual-meet record at State of 189-29, including a 34-meet winning streak in the 1950s. Eleven team SC and ACC titles. Coached 1954, 1956, and 1962 national AAU championship teams. Athletic director at State, 1969–1986. Casey Aquatic Center named in his honor. Born Goldsboro, 1920. Died 1992.
