* Dr. Lenox Baker - (1983)

Pioneer in sports medicine while on the staff of Duke Hospital. Native of Texas. Graduated from the University of Tennessee and Duke Medical School. Orthopedic surgeon whose patients included such notables as Babe Ruth and Dizzy Dean. In 1971 he became the first director of the N.C. Department of Human Resources. Died in 1995 at the age of 92.
