Museum Tour


The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame is located on the third floor of the N.C. Museum of History in downtown Raleigh. The physical address is 5 East Edenton Street, and the Museum of History’s phone number is 919-807-7900. Tours are self-guided.

Hours & Admission
Monday through Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free!

Location
The museum is located in downtown Raleigh, between the Capitol and the Legislative Building, at 5 East Edenton Street. The main entrance faces Bicentennial Plaza pedestrian mall linking Jones Street and Edenton Street.

Directions
From the North or East: Take the Capital Boulevard exit off I-440 north of Raleigh. Follow the Capital Boulevard (downtown) designation. Continue south approximately two miles and turn left onto Jones Street. Go three blocks. The museum is on the right.

From the West or South: Off I-440, take the Person Street exit. Proceed north for two miles. Turn left onto Edenton Street. Go three blocks. The museum is on the right.

Parking
Four public parking decks sit within two blocks of the Museum of History. Also, the Jones/Edenton Street lot behind the museum offers a small number of spaces ($2 per hour; free parking on weekends). Limited metered parking is available along Jones Street and Edenton Street (free parking on weekends).

Buses
Buses and passenger vans may park in the Blount/Jones Street lot as space allows. In advance of your trip, please contact the Capital Area Visitor Services at 919-807-7950 for additional information on bus parking.

Wheelchair Access
A wheelchair ramp is located on the Edenton Street side of the museum’s main entrance (facing Bicentennial Plaza). Wheelchairs are available free of charge at the museum information desk.
