College and pro star. A 6-ft.-8-in. center for UNC-Charlotte, 1973–1977. Led school to 1977 Final Four. Named third-team UPI all-American, 1977. Scored 1,824 college points. Pulled down 1,117 rebounds. First-round pick, 1977 draft, by Boston Celtics. Played for Boston, 1977–1985. Finished career with Los Angeles Clippers and Houston, 1985–1988. Named MVP, 1981 NBA finals. Scored 10,465 points in NBA career, averaging 12.5 per game. Played in 1981 and 1984 NBA championships in Boston. Born 1955, Kinston.
