* Floyd "Pep" Young 2000

Major league baseball player. Played 1933–1941 and 1945, mostly for Pittsburgh Pirates. Outstanding defensive second baseman. Led National League second basemen in assists, 1938. Batted .262 in 730 major league games. Active in semipro leagues in native Jamestown after leaving majors. Born 1907, died 1962.
