College and pro player. Top lineman at N.C. State and NFL. All-ACC center at State, 1978 and 1979. Consensus all-American both years. Won 1979 Outland Trophy as nation’s top lineman. Played 16 seasons in NFL, 14 with Buffalo. Moved to offensive guard in pros. Played in four Super Bowls and two Pro Bowls. All-League 1986, 1988, 1990. Played in 225 games for Buffalo, 1980–1993, a club record. Born 1958, Berea, Ohio. Longtime resident of Raleigh.
