On this day in history in the NCSHOF, legendary basketball coach Clarence “Bighouse” Gaines was born in Paducah, Kentucky.  Gaines had an amazing run as head coach at Winston-Salem State University from 1946 to 1993, rolling up 828 career victories. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1978.
