On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Ron Francis officially retired from the National Hockey League as a player.

September 14, 2005 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Ron Francis officially retired from the National Hockey League as a player. He scored 549 goals and tallied 1,798 points during 23 NHL seasons, during which he won two Stanley Cups and included a very memorable stint with the Carolina Hurricanes. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 2013.
