On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Leon Brogden of Wilmington died at the age of 90.

October 1, 2000 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Leon Brogden of Wilmington died at the age of 90. The long-time coach in Edenton, Wilson and Wilmington is a charter member of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame and coached NFL greats Sonny Jurgensen and Roman Gabriel at New Hanover High School, enjoying a 50-year career in education. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1970.
