October 30, 1966 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, quarterback Sonny Jurgensen threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to lift the Washington Redskins to a 27-13 triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The Wilmington native, who played at New Hanover High and then starred at Duke, completed 18 of 31 throws for 171 yards as the Redskins improved their record to 5-3. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1971.
