November 3, 1963 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Claude “Hoot” Gibson’s 85-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter lifted the Oakland Raiders to a 10-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Frank Youell Field in Oakland.  Gibson had been a standout collegiate football player at N.C. State and then was a head coach at Tulsa and Mars Hill following his playing days. He joined the NCSHOF in 2007.
