December 1, 1938 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, twins Mike and Jerry McGee were both born in Washington, DC. Mike went on to become an all-American tackle and the Outland Trophy winner during his football career at Duke, and then he was a head coach at East Carolina and Duke. As a college administrator, he was athletics director at Cincinnati, South Carolina and Southern Cal. Jerry also played football at Duke and then coached at high schools and colleges for nearly 20 years before heading into athletics administration full time, including more than two decades as director of the North Carolina Athletic Directors Association. Mike joined the NCSHOF in 1991, while Jerry was inducted in 2015.
