December 10, 1960 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, coach Clarence Stasavich guided Lenoir-Rhyne College to a 15-14 victory over Humboldt State (Cal.), for the 1960 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national football championship in St. Petersburg, FL. Stasavich, who joined the NCSHOF in 1970, also had a brilliant coaching tenure at East Carolina after he served as L-R head coach.
