December 17, 1967 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Roman Gabriel quarterbacked the Los Angeles Rams to a 34-10 triumph over Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts in the final regular season game of the year.  Gabriel, a former N.C. State star from Wilmington, completed 18 of 22 passes and threw for three touchdowns as the Rams completed an 11-1-2 regular season. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1971.
