December 22, 1963 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Claude “Hoot” Gibson opened the scoring by returning a punt 69 yards for a score, and his Oakland Raiders wound up rallying for a 52-49 American Football League victory over the Houston Oilers. The Raiders, under head coach Al Davis, finished the regular season 10-4.  Gibson, who went to serve as a head coach at Tulsa and Mars Hill, joined the NCSHOF in 2007.
