January 11, 1979 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Wallace native and former Guilford College star M.L. Carr scored 23 points for the Detroit Pistons as they got past the Portland Trail Blazers 104-101 in Detroit. Carr later was a member of two world championship teams with the Boston Celtics. He joined the NCSHOF in 2012.
