January 26, 1950 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Bones McKinney scored 17 points to help his Washington Capitols over the St. Louis Bombers in NBA action by a score of 82-71. That put the Caps over .500 for the year at 22-21. McKinney was a prep star at Durham High and then played collegiately at both North Carolina and N.C. State before coaching at Wake Forest. His Wake Forest team would win two ACC titles and make a Final Four appearance in 1962.
He joined the NCSHOF in 1970.
