On this day in history, Greensboro native Lou Hudson exploded for 42 points.

February 2, 1970 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Greensboro native Lou Hudson exploded for 42 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks past Detroit by a 125-121 score.  Hudson, who was an all-American at Minnesota, was known as “Sweet Lou” and his stroke was sweet in this game, hitting 16 field goals and 10 of 11 at the foul line. Lou was a six time NBA All-Star. His number 23 is retired by the Atlanta Hawks.

He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1988.
