March 11, 1966 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, New Bern native Walt Bellamy had a huge night, scoring 27 points and grabbing 23 rebounds for the New York Knicks, but the Knicks lost a tough 120-103 decision to the Baltimore Bullets at Madison Square Garden in New York.  Bellamy was a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic basketball team, which won the gold medal in the 1960 Games in Rome. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1984.
