May 5, 1967 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, second baseman Tommy Helms of the Cincinnati Reds had three hits in five at bats, scored three times and drove home a run as the Reds pounded the Atlanta Braves by a 14-7 count at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The Charlotte native, the National League Rookie of the Year in 1966, joined the NCSHOF in 2013.
