May 19, 1942 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Fred “Curly” Neal was born in Greensboro. A Greensboro Dudley High School star, Neal was a hoop standout at Johnson C. Smith University before embarking on a great career with the Harlem Globetrotters, spanning 22 seasons. The dribbling wizard played in more than 6,000 games with the Trotters. Neal joined the NCSHOF in 2008.
