May 25, 1969 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Jack McDowall died at the age of 63. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, McDowall is one of North Carolina State’s greatest athletes, serving as captain of both the football and basketball teams during his career. He went on to be a long-time athletic director at Rollins College. He joined the NCSHOF in 1965.
