June 13, 1951 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Goldsboro native Clyde King of the Brooklyn Dodgers pitched five innings to earn the victory as the Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-4. King went on to post a 14-7 pitching mark that year and later managed the Giants, the Yankees and the Braves.  He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1983.
