Carolina Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup in franchise history with a dramatic 3-1 win...

June 19, 2006 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, the Carolina Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup in franchise history with a dramatic 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in the seventh game of the series at the RBC Center, with Rod Brind’Amour wearing the “C” for captain of the Canes.  Brind’Amour was enshrined in the NCSHOF in 2016.
