While pitching for the Atlanta Braves, he set a record at the plate by hitting two grand slams...

July 3, 1966 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, major league baseball player Tony Cloninger made major league history.  While pitching for the Atlanta Braves, he set a record at the plate by hitting two grand slams in one game and driving home nine runs as the Braves overwhelmed the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park.  He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 2004.
