July 6, 1933 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Rick Ferrell earned a starting nod in the first All-Star Game for Major League Baseball at Comiskey Park in Chicago. The Durham native, who was catching for the Boston Red Sox at the time, spent 18 seasons in MLB. His American League team took a 4-2 decision in that Midsummer Classic. He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1973.
