July 15, 1951 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Billy Goodman of the Boston Red Sox reached base five times in the second game of a doubleheader, banging out four hits, walking once, scoring twice and driving in a run. The Red Sox beat the St. Louis Browns 9-5 before 10,790 at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis. The Concord native enjoyed a lengthy major league career and joined the NCSHOF in 1969.
