July 30, 1937 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, shortstop Pep Young of the Pittsburgh Pirates went two for three at the plate to lead the offensive attack as the Pirates scored in the bottom of the ninth, taking a 1-0 decision over the Boston Bees at Fenway Park.  The Jamestown native, who reached base three times in the game, was the only player with more than one hit.  The game took just an hour and 47 minutes to play and attendance was 4,126.  Young joined the NCSHOF in 2000.
