August 4, 1962 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Durham native Roger Craig picked up a win as pitcher for the expansion New York Mets in their first season, tossing a complete game as the Mets beat Cincinnati 9-1. He yielded nine hits, struck out seven and walked two while also hitting two. It was his sixth win of the year, and he won 25% of the team’s total wins. Also an excellent big league manager, he joined the NCSHOF in 1985.
