Sifford was the first successful African-American on the PGA tour

February 3, 2015 - On this day in history in the NCSHOF, Charlie Sifford died at the age of 92.  Sifford was the first successful African-American on the PGA tour, helping break the color barrier in that sport and winning twice on the tour.  He was inducted into the NCSHOF in 1992.
