Take the Kids to the NCSHOF Museum

If we were the only ones in the exhibit, I'd let them do a couple of quick sprints along the short track lanes. They'd pick up the old-fashioned phones...

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame has been around since the 1960s and has made its home in the N.C. Museum of History since the mid-1990s.

Tucked away on the third floor, the 3,500-square-foot exhibit has been a favorite spot for my sports-loving kids, especially when they were younger. If we were the only ones in the exhibit, I'd let them do a couple of quick sprints along the short track lanes. They'd pick up the old-fashioned phones to listen to North Carolina sports star talking about their exploits. And they'd jump from display to display, marveling at the big shoes or shiny trophies or medals.
