NCSHOF Student-Athlete Program Mission:
To engage, inspire, and support youth and their development through sports history education.
In five short years, the Student-Athlete Program of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame has seen tremendous success, and we are so grateful for the many generous donors who have helped move this from a concept to a reality.
Beginning in 2016, when we first invited some Wake County high school student-athletes to the banquet and induction ceremonies, the Student-Athlete Program (SAP) has grown into a full-fledged statewide program that, in 2019, included over 220 student-athletes and chaperones from 31 different schools. Since its inception over 750 student-athletes and chaperones have attended our Hall of Fame events. Last year (2021), we were even able to produce an outstanding Virtual Program as students were unable to travel to our in-person Induction Events. Visit this link to view the exciting resources provided.
This year we provided an in-person and virtual option for schools. We had 20 total schools participating with 11 in-person and 9 virtual. Eighty-seven student-athletes and chaperones attended this year. Below are the virtual resources from three different sessions that have been provided.

Session 3 - NCSHOF Panel Discussion
Below is the link to the 2022 NCSHOF Student-Athlete Program Panel Discussion. I think you will really enjoy the discussion. Phil Ford leads off his story, then the Panel begins after he finishes. The Panel includes 2022 Inductees Timmy Newsome, Ronnie Barnes, Dr. Terry Morris representing her mom Missouri Arledge, Dan Brooks and Torry Holt. If you would like to skip the first 3 minutes and 25 seconds, it shows the attending student-athletes walking into the NC Museum of History Auditorium.
