Student-Athlete Program

2021 Student-Athlete Program

Over the past three years the NCSHOF, with the support of sponsors, has provided an opportunity for over 700 middle and high school student-athletes and chaperones to attend the NCSHOF Induction Banquet on a Friday night in early May at the Raleigh Convention Center, and the NCSHOF Salute to Student-Athletes program the following Saturday morning at the NC Museum of History.

Last May, we were unable to hold our Induction Events due to COVID-19, and we thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we plan for the Induction of the Class of 2021.  The NCSHOF Board of Directors voted on Feb. 10 to move the induction ceremony to July 23, 2021 in Raleigh, NC.  This will now be a one-day event, rather than the previously planned weekend of activities on May 6-8, 2021.

Because the Induction events now fall over the summer break, and the current school system policy stating “For the upcoming year, in-person field trips have been suspended to ensure the safety of our students and employees,” we are exploring new and engaging ways to connect with the student-athletes.

In keeping with our vision, The NCSHOF will continue to expand and strengthen our association with all citizens of North Carolina, especially the youth, through popular exhibits and educational displays, we believe the NCSHOF Student-Athlete Program is a beneficial and worthwhile program that we want to continue virtually in 2021 and in-person and/or virtually in the future.  Below are our thoughts and tentative plans for the 2021 Student-Athlete Program (SAP).  In the past, the SAP has specifically revolved around the Friday night Induction Banquet and the Saturday Salute to Student-Athletes Seminar.  We think this can change in 2021 to having several engaging, virtual events and activities throughout the year, reaching far more student-athletes than ever before.
